Stories need a spine, flesh and blood to jump off the page and live in the imagination of both the writer and reader. This course will offer an in-depth exploration of the anatomy of story, focusing on the five critical elements every story must have. By the end of this class, students will possess a deep understanding of narrative structure and character, and how they work together to give life to story. For both fiction and nonfiction writers. Classes meet once a week.
